Tomorrow night, we are finishing up our series entitled, “God with us.” I wanted to share with you a few thoughts that might not make it into tomorrow’s message. These thoughts have stretched my faith over the years and encouraged me in dark hours. I pray it blesses you today!
What do I need to know when I feel like God isn’t with me?
- Know everything doesn’t have to make sense all the time.
8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. 9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
- Know you are never the only one going through what you are going through!
1 Peter 5:9 (NLT)
Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are.
- Know there is nothing that you are going through that Christ has not experienced or can relate with.
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
