I have been meditating on 1 Corinthians 15 for the past few weeks and wanted to share a thought with you. The context of this text is so profound yet simple. Paul is basically preaching the Gospel to people who have already heard and received the Gospel. Why would he do that? Why would he regurgitate a message that he has already preached? Because there is no other message to preach. There is no other place to go beyond the Gospel. The Gospel is where the Bible became a person and God became personal with humanity through His son Jesus (John 1). In other words, God’s intent was never to be the distant uncle that you never see, but rather the close Father that you maybe never had. Jesus is Emmanuel “God with us”. He has not come close to condemn us, but rather save us (John 3:17)! He came to set us free from our disease of sin! (Luke 5:32). He came to bring hope and life to our world. He came to fix our brokenness. He came to heal our hearts. Because of Jesus, we never have to be alone. He is the only one with enough power, enough courage, and enough capacity of love to set us free. He doesn’t just want to SAVE us, he wants to REDEEM us! He doesn’t just want to redeem us but also USE us to expand His glory and extend His name across the earth. So Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:3, “For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

Paul was so passionate about the Gospel that He had to pass it on! We should do the same! Pass on the good news of God’s grace through His son Jesus. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be timid. Don’t back down. Paul said in Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.” No one can hear a beautiful song without the singer opening his mouth and singing. No one can see the artistry of a beautiful painting without the painter dipping his brush in paint and stroking it across the canvas. No one can experience the shade of a tree without the planter letting go of his seed into the ground. And, In the same way, no one can experience true fulfilled life through Jesus without you and I passing it on! So….. pass it on!
